Occupation: Patrick is an Elder of the Wizengamot. He is also an active Death Eater, though no one (except his wife) knows this.
Bloodline / Heritage: Pureblood / Scottish
Personal History: Patrick was born to Michael and Alison Bristow on September 19th. His father was the Head of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement, and his mother was a stay-at-home wife and mother. He had one older brother, Mark, who was three years older than him. However, his brother died in a 'mysterious incident' when Patrick was 9, and he doesn't really remember much about the boy. He does know that once his brother died, he was suddenly the center of attention, and because of this, he was spoiled absolutely rotten. Being from a wealthy family had its benefits, and he was perfectly content growing up.
When he arrived at Hogwarts, the Sorting Hat had to debate whether to put him in Slytherin or Ravenclaw. He was put into Slytherin and flourished there, although he was one of the more bookish of the bunch. He didn't make any very close friends, though he hung around a bunch of Slytherins and Ravenclaws, respectively. He was one of the few who flew under the radar, letting the spotlight shine on the others of his House. He preferred to play in the background, making alliances that were stronger because of that.
As soon as he'd graduated from Hogwarts, his father took him on as a secretary in the Ministry. He thought that he would absolutely abhor the work, but came to realize that diplomacy and Ministry work were for him. Of course -- most of the reason that he decided to work for the Ministry was because of the incredible give his father had in the Death Eater ranks because of his position. Patrick became a Death Eater when he turned 22, a bit later than most of his friends who'd already joined the ranks, but with plenty of time to grow.
His parents were of the old-fashioned traditions, so they believed that an arranged marriage was the best way to go about for their son. Since Patrick was raised with their beliefs, he agreed to their suggestion, knowing that he'd likely not fall in love with anyone, so it wouldn't be an issue. When he was 21, his parents arranged for him to be married to Nicole Douglass, who he'd known in school. While they'd not been terribly close, as they both kept themselves guarded, they knew one another, which made it a more suitable arrangement -- for him, at least. They were married two years later.
When his father passed away four years later, he'd moved up in the Ministry's jobs. Instead of being a secretary, he was one of the Heads of the lesser Departments of Magical Law Enforcement, and he was eyeing a spot on the Wizengamot. He knew that having a Death Eater on the Wizarding justice system would be integral for the Dark Lord, so he slowly made himself invaluable to the Ministry. When he turned 30, he requested a spot on the Wizengamot, observational-only. They didn't often take such young members, but with the way that he'd wormed his way into their grasp, they thought that it was a good idea.
After a year of observing the system of justice that they used, Patrick managed to make himself a participating member of the Wizengamot -- a remarkable feat, and one that he (and the Dark Lord) was quite proud of.
Personality: Patrick was a very quiet Slytherin, and has retained that quality. His words have power because he doesn't raise his voice. Though he has a violent temper, it is rarely incited. He prefers to be behind big plans of action, rather than in the forefront of the action. Playing behind the curtain means that he is a bit more laid-back than many of the others around him, and it also means that he sees things that most people miss about situations they're in. He tends to be the one on the outside seeing it all for what it's worth, seeing both sides to the coin.
He is a very polite man, adhering to the rules that he was always taught about society. Even to those whom he doesn't like (such as Mudbloods and other lesser-peoples), he is civilized. After all, there is no need to lower himself to their level, therefore proving himself to be no better than them. No, no.
Patrick is a very typical Pureblood-bred man. He's quite suave and well-behaved, no matter what the situation. As was said before, he prefers to stay out of the spotlight, so he is calm and well-mannered. To take a quote from a website, he would be one to "say 'I despise you and think your are worthless scum' and make it sound like 'How do I love thee? Let me count the ways...'"
He tends to be a very easy person to talk to, because he has that sympathetic and friendly ear. He's almost always got a smile, though almost no one can tell if it's a true smile or not. He's quite skilled at putting people at ease, which made him the perfect diplomat for getting into the Ministry. He makes friends easily and isn't afraid to hide anything and everything that he feels in order to make alliances that will help him.
He is also a very materialistic man, and if he'd not been one to earn much money, he most certainly would have wanted to marry into money. Since he is living in the life of luxury, he doesn't spare any expense, for himself or his wife.
Physical Description: Patrick has brown hair and blue eyes. He is 6'0" tall, and weighs about 180lbs. He has an infectious smile that seems to put people at ease, and though he may cut an intimidating figure with his posture and stance, his smile disarms.

1. Facts - Patrick has a natural flair for being able to remember endless amounts of knowledge, whether it be something trivial like the date that Merlin was born, to the meaningful, like how long -- to the second -- a person can withstand an ongoing Crucio without being brain damaged or killed.
2. Reading - He is of the opinion that a well-read man is the key to ruling the world; therefore, and going with his first strength, he is an avid reader. He reads the news, he reads fiction, he reads biographies... anything he can get his hands on, really.
Weaknesses:
1. Snobby/Full of himself - Patrick knows that he is better than many people, and he isn't afraid to make that fact known to the general public.
2. Withdrawn - He tends to guard his heart and emotions closely, though he's not cold or distant. Just -- withdrawn.
3. Violent temper - While his temper takes a while to actually be incited, when it is? Watch out.
4. Materialistic - Patrick has always been raised amoung rich things, and he aquired rich tastes. He definitely enjoys things.
